For example, if you want to make a policy change in a single module like File Anti-Virus in multiple policies; you can do this all at a time using Parent Policy.</p>

<p style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Open Sans"'>To delete policy template, follow the steps given below:<br>The Policy Criteria window displays to which group or computer the template is assigned in Assigned to Group(s) or Assigned to Computer(s) column.</p>

<li>Select a policy template.</li>
<li>Click on <b>Assign To > Groups</b>.<br>Assign Criteria to Group window appears.</li>
<li>Click on <b>Group Policy Template > OK</b>.<br>Assign Criteria to group window displays Managed Computers folder tree.</li>
<li>Uncheck the selected group.</li>
<li>Click on <b>OK</b>.<br>The Policy Template will no longer be assigned to any group. This enables Delete Criteria button.</li>
<li>Select the template.</li>
<li>Click on <b>Delete Template</b>.<br>A confirmation window appears.</li>

<li>Enter a name for the template.</li>
<li>Make the necessary changes and then click on <b>Save</b>.<br>
The template will be copied.</li></ol>

<li>In the Policy Templates window, select a policy.</li>
<li>Click on <b>Export To</b>.</li>
<li>Select the file format from the drop-down menu (HTML, PDF, and Excel).</li>

Adding a Policy Template

To define Policy Template, follow the steps given below:

  1. In the Managed Computers screen, click on Policy Templates.
  2. Click on New template.
    New Templates screen appears displaying modules for Windows, Linux, and Mac computers.
  3. Enter Template Name.
  4. To edit a module, select it and then click on Edit.
  5. Click on Save.
    The Policy Template will be saved.

Viewing Properties of a Policy template

To view the properties of a Policy Template, follow the steps given below:

  1. Select a policy template.
  2. Click on Properties.
  3. Select and edit the required module according to your preferences.
  4. The Policy template will be saved and updated.

Parent Policy

The Parent Policy lets you to implement a change in policy setting to multiple policies at the same time. For example, if you want to make a policy change in a single module like File Anti-Virus in multiple policies; you can do this all at a time using Parent Policy.

To configure Parent Policy, follow the steps given below:

  1. In the Managed Computers screen, click on Policy Templates.
    Policy Templates window appears.
  2. In the Policy Template window, click on Parent Policy.
    Properties (Parent Policy) window appears displaying all the policies.
  3. Select and edit the required module according to your preferences.
  4. Click on Assign To drop-down and select the policies for which the parent policy changes should be applied.
  5. Click on OK.
    The Parent policy will be updated and changes will be applied to all the policies selected.

NOTE

Before disabling a module in Parent Policy, ensure that policies are unchecked from Assign To drop-down.

Deleting Policy template

To delete policy template, follow the steps given below:
The Policy Criteria window displays to which group or computer the template is assigned in Assigned to Group(s) or Assigned to Computer(s) column.

  1. Select a policy template.
  2. Click on Assign To > Groups.
    Assign Criteria to Group window appears.
  3. Click on Group Policy Template > OK.
    Assign Criteria to group window displays Managed Computers folder tree.
  4. Uncheck the selected group.
  5. Click on OK.
    The Policy Template will no longer be assigned to any group. This enables Delete Criteria button.
  6. Select the template.
  7. Click on Delete Template.
    A confirmation window appears.
  8. Click on Ok.
    The Policy Template will be deleted.

Assigning Policy Template to a group

There are two ways to assign the policy template to group.

Method 1
To assign a Policy to a group,

  1. In the Managed Computers screen, click on Policy Templates.
    Policy Templates window appears.
  2. In the Policy Templates window, select a policy template.
  3. Click on Assign to Group(s).
    Select Group window appears.
  4. Select the group(s) and then click on OK.
    The policy will be assigned to the selected group(s).

Method 2
To assign a Policy to a group,

  1. In the Managed Computers folder tree, select a group.
  2. Under the group, click on Policy.
    Policy pane appears on the right side.
  3. In the right pane, click on Select Template.
    New Policy window appears.
  4. Select a policy template and then click on Select.
    The default Policy Template for group will be saved and updated.

Assigning Policy Template to Computer(s)

To assign a policy template to computers,

  1. In the Policy Templates window, select a policy.
  2. Click on Assign to Computer(s).
  3. Assign Template to computer window appears.
  4. Click on Managed Computers.
  5. Select the computer(s) and then click on OK.
    The policy template will be assigned to the selected computers.

Copying a Policy Template

To copy a Policy Template,

  1. In the Policy Templates window, select a policy.
  2. Click on Copy Template.
    New Template window appears displaying settings from the original template.
  3. Enter a name for the template.
  4. Make the necessary changes and then click on Save.
    The template will be copied.

Exporting a Policy Template report

To copy a Policy Template,

  1. In the Policy Templates window, select a policy.
  2. Click on Export To.
  3. Select the file format from the drop-down menu (HTML, PDF, and Excel).
  4. The Policy template report will be generated.
