<B>Q. How can I download updates for my eScan clients version 9 from an eScan Server version 10? </B>

<I><B>A. </B> To download updates for eScan clients version 9 from an eScan Server version 10, follow the steps below:
:1. Open the eupdate.ini of the eScan Server from \Program files\escan\ directory or the eScan installed directory, 
:2. search for "DoNotAllowDownload=" entry.

:3. Default entry will be

  DoNotAllowDownload=*.avc,*.avx,*.set,*.key,*.vnd,update.txt,*.dt,kerupd.upz

:4. You have to remove all the values and save the eupdate.ini file. The value should be
DoNotAllowDownload=


:5. And start downloading the udpates.


<B>Q. In Mailscan for Exchange (installed in Gateway mode) - Raspop logs does not get created in the Windows 2008 (64bit-OS)</B>
:6. It will store Verion 9 updates in \pub\update folder (share name is escanupd$)  


:7. And the Version 10 updates will be stored under \pub\avx folder (share name is escanavx$ )


:8 Whenever a eScan client or server version 9 will download the updates from eScan version 10 server it will choose the \pub\update path which is default one. And version 10 client will choose the \pub\avx path to download the other signatures.


<B>Solution</B>:


1. Download the Raspop.zip. (Click here to download the [http://www.microworldsystems.com/download/tools/Raspop.zip Raspop.zip])
<B>Note:</B> The Above Changes is to be implemented Only when Client OS are Below Windows XP. </I>


2. Extract the Raspop.exe from Raspop.zip to the C:\ drive


Then follow the below mentioned steps:


# Goto the Command prompt. Start>>Run>>Cmd.
# Goto C:\Program file(x86)\mailscan folder.
# Type the command
  killproc raspop.exe and press Enter.
# Rename the file raspop.exe to raspop.old
# Copy the new raspop.exe from the C:\ drive to the C:\Program file(x86)\mailscan folder.
# Then restart the machine and check the log files after downloading the mails by raspop.

Q. How can I download updates for my eScan clients version 9 from an eScan Server version 10?


A. To download updates for eScan clients version 9 from an eScan Server version 10, follow the steps below:


1. Open the eupdate.ini of the eScan Server from \Program files\escan\ directory or the eScan installed directory,
2. search for "DoNotAllowDownload=" entry.
3. Default entry will be
DoNotAllowDownload=*.avc,*.avx,*.set,*.key,*.vnd,update.txt,*.dt,kerupd.upz
